Kingswood has a mixture of Victorian and Edwardian terraces, 1930's detached and semi-detached homes, converted flats and later housing developments.
That means I come across very different electrical installations, from older-wiring that needs replacing to more modern systems requiring upgrades, testing or additional circuits.
Kingswood is a town which is situated about 3 miles from Bristol City Centre.
Back to topOne of my recent jobs in Kingwood was a full electrical rewire of a Kitchen on Laurell street. I worked alongside the Kitchen fitters, and followed the plans supplied by the kitchen designers, making sure sockets, appliances, lighting and other electrical points were installed where they were needed for the new kitchen.
While I was working there, I also inspected the existing installation and found the consumer unit and several other electrical areas needed attentions. I discussed my findings with the customer, agreed the additional work with them, and completed the new consumer unit installation, along with the remedial electrical work to bring the installation up to a safe and compliant standard.
The customer was please with the work and later contacted me again when they were ready to have their bathroom fitted. For me, that was one of the best signs that a job has gone well, the customer was happy enough with both the electrical work and the way I dealt with the project to ask me back.
Back to topOlder Kingswood properties still have ageing Electrical installations, including installations containing outdated aluminium wiring. Depending on the condition and arrangement of the existing system, this can mean that parts of the installation need further investigation, remedial work, testing or replacement.
I regularly deal with consumer unit replacements, fault finding, electrical testing, lighting upgrades, rewiring and modern electrical installations. With older properties, I assess what is actually there rather than assuming that every house needs exactly the same work.
I regularly carry out:
